    Hey All,
My name is Ginger I am a student at OCC studying to be a Surgical Tech and an RN, don’t be fooled I am not only a student I am also a full time single mother of two , and a Medical assistant at Henry Ford Hospital West Bloomfield. I am planning a Vacation to Mexico in February as well as a wedding in September. I have my hands full and not a lot of free time. I have a degree as an Administrative Assistant from Indiana Business College and 7 years ago decided I didn’t want to work in an office anymore, I wanted to help people. I went back to school and became a Certified Medical Assistant and have loved every minute of it. I love to read. My all-time favorite thing to do is to take pictures; I was accepted to In Institute of photography in New York, due to unfortunate circumstances I was unable to go. I dream one day that I will be able to just take pictures all the time and make money doing it. I learned this summer that I have a hidden talent for drawing. I am pretty boring person.
This semester I hope to learn to be a better writer, I enjoy writing and would love to be good at it. I look forward to this class and all that it has to offer.

    Ginger

  2. Stephen Packett September 6, 2011 at 8:10 pm #

Hello all, my name Stephen Mullin Packett. In school you call me Stephen, but friends and family call me Mullin. (Its my middle name) I am currently pursuing a degree in English, and hope one day to teach that very subject. I have been places the past few years, and Michigan wasn’t expected.
I joined the Army a few years after high school-back in 2002- and my life changed. College was going too slowly for me and I needed some direction and purpose again, so I joined the service. Most importantly I could use them for college and they could use me to do well…..whatever they wanted. It was a good experience all together and I wouldn’t trade it in for the world. I met my best friend in the Army who has helped me out a bunch.
Remember how I said Michigan wasn’t expected? Well he talked me into moving here and buying a house and going to school for English like I’ve wanted to do. I wanted to go back home to Virginia, but look where I am now. New people, new school, and new neighbors. Yikes!
But I’m ready to start a new life and new beginnings here in Michigan for now. So far so good. Just stay friendly Michigan, please.

  4. Briana Lack September 9, 2011 at 3:05 am #

My name is Briana lack, this is my second year at college, i am nineteen years old and have a dream of becoming a forerensic scienetist one day. I want to be working in a lab, determining whos DNA and Blood was at the crimescene. Detaining a degreee in criminal justice was on my mind but after takin a class in that that i decided it wasnt for me, I am currently taking 4 class semester, which all are pretty tough. Going to an University next year, is something that is on my mind. Wayne State University is one school that I visited a few years back and really enjoyed it there. So that is something I hope to persure is the next year. I still live with my parents at home and i have a younger brother whos ten. I work at a jewerly and accesorie store in the mall called glitter, i just started working there a week ago. I’ve had a lot of “after school jobs” in my nineteen years but nothing ever serious. I have lived in Michigan my whole life, but plan on moving somewhere where its warm all year long, No snow for me!
I hope in this Enghlish 1510 I learn how to obtain information on the subject and being able to put it all on the paper. I struggle with coming up with good topics for each paragraphs and then being able to make it long enough. Sometimes I go off subject and start rambaling alone, just to get enough words jotted down. I need to work on planning out my papers better. Take some notes before I actually start the paper, so maybe I wont be freaking out as much about what I need for each topic, and the paper will then come out easier. I hope I learn a lot in this class, and am excited to see whats in my near future.

  5. Derek Delap September 9, 2011 at 4:58 pm #

    Hello everybody

My name is Derek, I am an artist, musican, and an extreme sports enthusiast. I am attending class’s here at oakland community college part time, and work on a shotgun range full time. I’m attending OCC to improve my poor highschool grade point average, and obtain a liberal arts associates degree. Eventually i am considering enrolling at the center for creative studies, however it is a rather expensive school and would probably require me to find financial support. I’m looking forward to learning how to lay out my ideas and thoughts out on to the paper a little better.

  6. Tyler Carr September 9, 2011 at 9:27 pm #

    Hello everyone,
My name is Tyler, and this is my first year at college. I am attending OCC to get a Liberal Arts degree for a starting goal in my college education. I play violin and piano, and I love to write poems and short stories. I hope to one day be a successful author, and am currently writing a book that I hope will get published in the future. I’m usually a very quiet person, and I tend to have trouble speaking up. And just as a warning in case I faint in class or something like that, I am diabetic.
That’s really all I have to say, and I hope to learn what I can from this class.
