We had a brief discussion on this during class, but I figured it was a good topic to address with more prep time to think about it. So as we talked about, Steve Jobs, the genius behind Apple — makers of iPods, iPhones, iPads, and other revoluntionary products — died last week. He was 56 and had been sick for some time. For awhile he had been regarded as somewhat of a pariah in the business world, never really being able to lead Apple. But all that, as you can guess, changed when the new products started coming out, starting with the iPod.

So here’s the question: In this 150-200 word QOTW response, talk about Jobs’ impact on the world — whether that impact is positive or negative — with the technology that his company pioneered during his tenure.

Your response to this QOTW is due by class time on Friday, Oct. 14.

His Impact was extremely positive it changed the way technology was utilized. When I was young we thought of computers just for work not alot of play, and it was hard to get reconnected with people. His thinking opened doors some people never thought of. For instance being able to put 1500 songs in your pocket and play them at anytime anywhere. I remeber having a CD walkmen, you had to stop it change the CD It was a pain!! Second of all the Ipad and the apps makes life so much easier with anything you can need at the palm of your hands, like how to do math problems or how to plan a wedding, Or my favorite is your wedding day counter. The was we see technology is now open to so many ideas thanks to him.. He was the “Thomas Edison” of technology!Thomas Edison to electricy and Steve Jobs to Ipad!!!

Steve Jobs reminds me of Johnny Appleseed – – He put Apples all over the world.
Jobs, the Apple Inc. founder twice altered the direction of the computer industry. In 1977 the Apple II kicked off the P.C. era, and the graphical user interface launched by Macintosh in 1984 has been aped by every other computer since.
Five industries that Jobs has upended – – computers, Hollywood, music, retailing and wireless phones. At this moment, no one has more influence over a broader swath of business than Jobs.
Jobs has been a positive influnce , he made the world better by creating things that make people happy. ipods help us listen to our favorite music. iphones connect us with our friends and family. Mac computers help us do our homework, write that novel or watch movies with friends.

Mr. Jobs definitly made an effect on this world. Expecially this century. He came out with so much technology its blowing everything else off the market. He took somthing little and made it huge. Its not just a portable computer its and Ipad; the worlds coolest lap top. Everything he has created people are freaking out about. Everybody wants what he makes. and in my opion that means he must have done a pretty good job while he was on this earth. People want the coolest and newest things, they want what everybody else wants but most people can’t get. He changed the way we view technology. Future generations who are trying to create something bigger then what he did are going to have a very hard time coming up with something more amazing. He made something as little as deck of cards hold over 1,000 songs. He definitly made an bigger impact then anyone really knows.

Steve Jobs will be forever missed. Steve was a family man and an amazing creator. Steve was with apple since the beginning creating the basic first computer with a black screen and green writing. Steve’s technology creations were so advanced for our time and created them in such a short period of time. He has made our technology world advance to where people fifty years expected it to be. Steve’s advancements were a positive effect on our economy and a positively affected the competition among his competitors. Steve jobs will forever be missed as a person, and as a creator.

All I could think of when I saw the Ipad for the first time was: “Wow, this is like that shit in star trek.” While not a huge fan of Apple, or ‘Star Trek’ for that matter, I always admired how the products Apple turned out to look so “space aged.”

No doubt this was hugely possible by the man, Steve Jobs. It takes people with that ambition, and vision, to help us progress farther into the world of modern technology. If there is any hope for the human race it will take dreams and the people with the gusto to chase them. I believe that with the leaps and bounds Jobs and his associates made, others will be inspired.

Without Steve there is no way we would be half as far(if you can call it that) as we are today.

Steve Jobs had a very positive impact on the world. He not only helped make Apple successful but he also had a hand in Disney Pixar. Disney and Pixar were two separate companies until Steve Jobs came along. When he bought the company he named Pixar it was just a graphics developer. But Steve helped Pixar merge with Disney to make movies like Toy Story and A Bug’s Life.

Not to mention, he pioneered the Mac and many other Apple products. Without Steve Jobs I don’t think the iPod would have been half as successful; if it was even thought of. He was a great man who had many great ideas about many things. His impact on the world was something great, tremendous even. I mean how many other non-celebrities die and stocks go down? Now that we don’t have Steve Jobs anymore I wonder who will try to take his place. Whoever does definitely has some pretty big shoes to fill.

Steve Jobs is a shining example of what this country is all about. He came from humble background and used his talents and ingenuity to become one of the most impressive inventors of our time. Jobs had over 200 patents in his name and would take old concepts of technology and electronics to create revolutionary new products that are spread throughout the United States and even many parts of the civilized world. Chief among his accomplishments would probably be the iPod, a device capable of storing and playing now ten thousand songs that can fit in the palm of your hand. His company continues to produce its own line of computers and electronics that are unique from all other types of computer producers. We have Jobs and a few other leading minds to thank for the great progress our country has made in the last few decades in the way to computer technology. In his death America loses one of our greatest entrepenuers and technical minds of our generation.

Steve Jobs was an amazing individual. Honestly I don’t think there will ever be another like him. His passing touched millions. When he died, outpourings of sympathy swept across the globe as state leaders, business rivals and fans paid respect to the man who touched the daily lives of countless millions through the Macintosh computer, IPod, IPad, IPhone. Employee’s have stated that they went on without business for a moment. Steve Jobs was a cheif product designer, marketing geru and salesman nonperil. Phones running Google Adroid, everything he invented is like a mini computer that you can take with you every where. Even his dresscode alone had an impact on the nation, his trademark uniform of black turtle-neck long sleeved shirts and his straight fit blue jeans. Steve Jobs impact was positive, he touched every individual across the globe with his outstanding technology inventions. All we can do is pray and have faith that his breath taking ideas will be continued.

I don’t know much about Steve Jobs. I own one of his older first generation creations; the iPod Nano. It was easy to use, and it was smaller than my cell phone at the time. Fit in my pocket and it held like 1500 songs. I threw out my CD player that summer.
Not knowing too much about this innovator of technology in the beginning, but from what I have read over the past few days in the news and knowledge of his works, I absolutely feel he had a great impact on the world in a positive way. He was involved in so many different ground breaking ideas. From early video game graphics(Atari) to the first small computer with graphical interface to computer animated full length movies(Pixar and Disney partnership), to touch screen cell phones and iPods.

Well, Steve Jobs made a pretty big impact on the world. I am not really sure if it was a negative impact or a positive impact. Apple has come out with many technological break throughs and what not, because of Steve Jobs. Some might take it positively, because Apple has advanced technology greatly. They did this by making the whole i-pod series and mac computers mostly. In my opinion, their products are not really special, they are way too overpriced, but i don’t blame them because people will still buy their products. On the other hand, the technology had a negative effect. I believe this because people are always using technology and they seem like they cant live without it because they have become so independent on using them. Even though they don’t realize five minutes without an i-pod or cell phone isn’t too bad.

Steve Job’s accomplishments affected all of our live’s in some way or another, everyone and their grandparents own an ipod or someone they know owns one. The iPhone really enhanced and enabled the smart phone market. The ipad made new breaking achievements opening up the market for the new tablets. I personally love electronics and love quality products and Apple does a great job of putting these products out there. Steve Jobs was a great innovator and a smart hard working creator of our era. I would like to see if any thing changes with the great Apple products since losing Jobs. I don’t believe it will though just because jobs was not by any means the sole inventor of the operation. He had a lot of influences on his peers and was known for his creative mind. Losing Steve Jobs is sad, he will be greatly missed by Apple and all the new consumers and great customers that are loyal to the company.

I think that steve jobs and the apple corporation definiatly had a postive impact. Creating computers and other electronic devices that are extremely user friendly. For people that haven’t grown up around computers or maybe just first time users apple products are not a bad way to go. However giving people the ability to take any of media, games, and internet along with them everywhere they go, kinda distorts peoples attention span and priorities. A lot of people become subject to this and are constantly checking their facebooks, tweeting, playing games, and etc. the possiblities are limitless and are only going to get more and more ridiciulas.

Steve jobs will dfinitely be missed but not forgotten for his achievements in the technological world. He has made it possible for the people to have everything they want at their fingertips. The ipod paved the way for such items as the iphone and ipad and anything else starting with “I” Negative to some, in such a fast paced world, Steve was a visionary by designing portable media devices for the common person. Say what you about Steve jobs, he was a genius and will always be honored by Apple and others. I know if Steve jobs didnt do it, others wouldve, but he was the first and should remembed as such. I personally think his advances in the technological world are awesome. I am one to advocate technology and think his merchandise cannot dupliocated by others. I appreciate his dedication and impact he has had for our generation

Steve Jobs was a brilliant man and i believe that he brought a very positive impact to the world. Even though Jobs was not the only mastermind behind apple he made it possible for apple to build and expand into so many amazing things. It started with the Ipod, who would have thought that someone could make it possible for so many songs, videos, and even pictures to be put on one tiny device. He helped to make those songs, videos , and pictures become conveniently located on a tiny device that could fit in your pocket. Then the iphone, the ipad, and so on and so forth. These items all make the world come together believe it or not. They have helped our society advance so much technologically. If we did not Steve Jobs or people like him our world would be a completely different place. He has defiantly had a huge but great impact on this world.

Steve Jobs was without a doubt a visionary who surrounded himself by exceptional people.
He started Apple, a company that he was fired from in 1985. He bought Pixar for $10 million, struggled for a few years and became a billionaire over night with the release of Toy Story and Pixar’s initial public offering. When apple was struggling he came back as CEO and ended up leading them to one of the largest companies in the world. The products he has been a part of have become staples of american culture. The Ipod changed the way we listened and paid for music. The Iphone pioneered smart phones and the consolidation of our technological needs into one device. I don’t agree with apples business practices. I think that they keep their profit margins higher than they need to. Jobs was also criticized as not being the most gracious boss. There is no doubt that he was an exceptional showman and visionary who helped change technology for the better.
